”I learnt to be wary of the crocodile; heard the hippopotamus laugh; saw two elephants oblivious of our presence frolicking in the shallows; watched the majestic fish eagle, posing on the fork of a petrified tree, throw back his head with a plaintive cry, and with a flash retrieve a catfish in one talon; saw a secretive jackal; a shadowy herd of buffalo at night; crossed the path of a secretive but purposeful porcupine.
